UseDid you know that popcorn not only tastes good but is also good for you? The presence of fibre aids digestion as well as helping to reduce cholesterol levels. It also contains antioxidants, vitamin E and B vitamins. To get these benefits, however, it is important not to exceed in salt. You can try flavouring them with healthy seasonings, such as pepper and lemon zest or our Genovese pesto mix for a colourful, tasty and healthy snack!
Preparation and cooking
You can prepare popcorn in two ways:
Frying in a pan: place a handful of corn in a large pan with a little oil, cover with a lid and cook until the kernels have completely burst.
Microwave cooking: Mix a heaped tablespoon of maize with one tablespoon of oil, place the mixture in a glass microwaveable container. Cover with a plate, leaving a gap for steam to escape. Cook for about 3 minutes at maximum power, when the popping of the corn slows to one every 1-2 seconds the popcorn is ready to enjoy. Season with salt and serve.
