Did you know...
Rosemary is a shrub that can grow up to 2 metres in height and can be used as an ornamental plant with its beautiful blue-violet flowers. For the ancient Romans, rosemary had an apotropaic function, i.e. as a good omen, and for this reason a bunch of rosemary was kept in plain sight on the doorstep. In the Middle Ages, on the other hand, it was believed to keep evil spirits away, while for the Egyptians it was a symbol of immortality.
